Care Guide For Your Helmet
Thank you for choosing a KEP Italia riding helmet. Your helmet is designed to provide
exceptional comfort, safety and style. With proper care and maintenance, it
will continue to perform and look its best for years to come.
CHINSTRAP CARE
The chinstrap is one of the most important components of your helmet and requires
regular cleaning.
Sweat, dirt, sunscreen, makeup, hair products and perfumes can gradually damage both leather and eco-leather chinstraps, causing premature wear, stiffness, cracking and discolouration.
We recommend
• Wiping the chinstrap with a soft damp cloth after every ride.
• Allowing the strap to air dry naturally after use.
• Avoiding direct contact with perfumes, hairsprays, sunscreen and other cosmetic products.
• Never storing the helmet while the chinstrap is damp from sweat.
• Regularly inspecting the strap for signs of wear, cracking or deterioration.
Think of your helmet chinstrap in the same way you care for your horse's bridle or bit. Just as horse bits are cleaned after use, your chinstrap should also be cleaned regularly to remove sweat and contaminants.
INNER LINER CARE
The KEP Italia inner liner is removable and washable.
To maintain hygiene, comfort and performance:
• Remove the liner regularly and wash according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Riders who use their helmet frequently should wash the liner every 1–2 weeks.
• Allow the liner to dry completely before refitting.
• Replace liners that become excessively worn or compressed.
Regular washing helps remove sweat, bacteria, dirt and odours while maintaining the liner's moisture-wicking properties.
HELMET SHELL CARE
• Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth only.
• Do not use harsh cleaners, solvents or abrasive products.
• Store your helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
• Use the supplied helmet bag whenever possible.
• Avoid leaving your helmet in vehicles where temperatures can become excessive.
SAFETY REMINDER
Always inspect your helmet before riding. If your helmet has been subjected to a
significant impact, it should be replaced even if no visible damage is present.
A well-maintained helmet not only looks better but also helps ensure optimum
comfort, longevity and safety every time you ride.
Ride safely and enjoy your KEP Italia helmet.
"Your KEP Italia helmet is an investment in both safety and style. A few minutes of care after each ride will help keep it performing at its best."
